Step 1

Open Photoshop and create a new document. The dimension I have used was 2560px x 1600px. After that, select Gradient Tool (G) and create a gradient using the color of the foreground black and the background a dark blue. (#050655)

Step 2

Now tip the word “REVOLUTION” and position it in the middle. I have used my font, you can use yours. After that rasterize the layer. After that I wanted to create a perspective about the “REVOLUTION” so I picked thePerspective Tool and I had pushed each part of the word to show that it goes back. It gives you the impression that the word has been forced to go back a little.

Step 3

Ok, now let’s have some fun! I have duplicated the layer and I have added a contour using just a stroke of 2px. After, select the whole layer and erase the containing of the letters. You will remain with only the white stroke of the word “REVOLUTION”. This is my technique of making very easy a contour. After that I have positioned it to give a 3D aspect.

Step 4

After that we create a white base using outer glow. After that, create a new layer, select Radial Gradient Tool (G) and use foreground to transparent, from black to cyan (#00d2ff). Don’t forget to change Blend Mode onOverlay.

Step 5

Let’s add some lights. The lights are from an image that you pick. After I have resized the image and erased all the parts that I didn’t need I just put them on the word, duplicated and resized.

Step 6

After that I have added some light lines and gone crazy! It is the same process as the light one, you position them and you duplicated them, don’t forget to change the layer on Overlay. Just play with the lines, have a concept and be creative!

Step 7

After that I have added some shapes from my library, I have blended in the background of the word and also I have added some shapes where the color of the foreground is black. I wanted to create a depth for the background. I knew that I was going to add another color for my design, so I didn’t wanted it to be full of rich colors.

Step 8

Now it’s time to add some new elements and color. As I have said before, I have decided to choose orange; what I have done was to fill my shapes with orange (#fb863a) and play with the blending options. In my case I have used Overlayand Soft Light.

Step 9

Create a new layer, select Radial Gradient Tool (G) and use foreground to transparent from a dark orange (#5a472f) to orange (#fb863a). I really loved to play with the blending options. That is the thing that gives the vibrant light effect. Set this layer on Overlay.

Step 10

The final touch I have added the word “THE” and set it on Overlay. For the resistance piece, I grabbed an image and put it in the top of the layers and set it on Screen. That’s all.
